While using concrete as the primary building block of your home is a bit unconventional, you will be the envy of the neighborhood when bad weather comes around. A concrete structure may move in an earthquake but it is unlikely to fall. A concrete habitat might get smoke damage in a fire but it will not burn down. A concrete building will stand defiantly against hurricane and even resist any effort of a tornado to take it over the rainbow.

Another advantage of using concrete to build your home is that concrete is a natural insulation to keep your heat and cold inside. So your energy bills will be much more manageable. The biggest "sell" to going the concrete route might be the member of the family who wants a house that looks like everyone else's and can be decorated. But once you have the core concrete structure up, facades can be added to dress up the place and any other external or interior decorating you wish to employ can turn that very safe and efficient home into a showcase. But it will be a showcase that is far safer than any comparable structure.
